The Allure of the Unexplained Achievement

Among Big Walk's cryptic accolades, the 'Big Makeover' achievement stands out with its minimalist directive: 'Get shiny.' This particular accolade has become a point of minor obsession for completionists, offering no further context. The solution, however, lies in the game's progression system—specifically, the application of a metallic paint option not available at the game's outset. Uncovering it is less about a complex puzzle and more about a methodical exploration of the map's northern reaches and its subterranean passages.

The Northern Gatekeeper: Unlocking the Yellow Tower

The first concrete step involves unlocking the tunnels on the northern section of the map. This is achieved by completing the yellow tower, a task situated on a distant mountain. While players can embark on the hike immediately, a more efficient route exists: completing the green tower first activates a ski lift that transports you directly to the yellow tower's base. The tower's challenge itself mirrors others in the game: gather five red gourd-shaped collectibles by solving the surrounding map's puzzles and present them at the tower to receive a key.

The Key-Shaving Trail to the Tunnel Entrance

Possessing the key is not enough; it must be physically modified. The first yellow keyhole is located just outside the completed yellow tower. Using this keyhole shaves down the key and, importantly, points the player toward the next keyhole. This creates a trail of sequential keyholes, each whittling the key further and directing you onward, until the key is fully shaped and you arrive at the entrance to the yellow tunnel itself. This process is a literal progression mechanic, guiding you through the environment to the area where the shiny options reside.

A Descent Through the Tunnel to the Paint Room

Inside the yellow tunnel, the path to the paint room is specific. Upon entering, players should take an immediate right. A flashlight, either brought from the surface or sourced from the entrance, is mandatory for visibility. Following the right path leads to what the game's designers clearly intended as a nightclub, complete with a DJ setup. Opposite this setup, a doorway on the left leads into a red hall that quickly transitions to green. At the first fork in this corridor, taking the right-hand path through the red section is crucial. Continuing straight past an opening on the left (which leads to a lower floor and a satchel) brings you to a purple room filled with red archways and descending ramps. At the bottom, what appears to be a dead end with a circular wall indent actually features a ramp down to a hidden alcove. This final alcove houses the painting structure with three metallic-colored blocks—the final checkpoint for the 'Big Makeover' achievement.
